September 2020Great to see students back in school. We hope your children had a positive first day back! Students were very understanding of all the new safety procedures we have in place to keep everyone as safe as possible. Teachers worked with each group to begin to introduce new routines. The key phrase at this time is "With An Abundance Of Caution" . We all know the COVID numbers are higher than we would like, and with this in mind we would like to ensure your children stay well. We have separated students into learning cohorts and they will be asked to remain with that group throughout the day-- lunch time also (for the next couple of weeks, to be sure we minimize contacts at school). Students will be gathering at the back of the school tomorrow morning to meet their home room teacher and after a short home room, will begin their regular class rotation. Tuesday will begin a regular day of classes. Reminder: Closed Campus, students must be picked up by a family member and sign out at the office in order to leave the school. Things you can do to help: 1. Morning COVID-19 Check: Is your child well? YES= send to school NO = keep home (contact school to let us know your child is staying home; contact a health care provider) 2. Go over the Site Safety Expectations for Quesnel Junior School with your child: it is really important that you and your family understand the things in place to keep us all safe. Students need to understand they are expected to follow these directions-- if they put others at risk they may need to be picked up from school. Safety is our shared responsibility! 3. Contact us with your questions or concerns: Each of your child's teachers are willing to answer questions regarding your child. We know working together creates greater success! We are off to a good start, in spite of the unusual nature of this year. We hope your children feel welcome and safe here at Quesnel Junior School.
