Criminal Record Checks
Please review Policy & Procedures 920 - Volunteers in Districts Schools
If you have children who have transferred from another school in our district to QJS, and want to volunteer here, we can check with if you have a valid Criminal Record check completed on file with the District Administration Office.
As long as the clearance letter is valid and is addressed to the School District so it doesn't matter if your child attended a different school, you are covered for five years and don't have to complete it every year.
Please note volunteers may be asked to be fingerprinted. If you receive a letter from the Criminal Records Review program regarding this, you should follow the directions in the letter.
If you need to complete a Criminal Record Check, we recommend you do so online as it is much quicker.
If you do not have access to a computer with a printer at home, please come into the office and staff will assist you.
Please print off the confirmation page and bring it into the school. YOU MAY NOT VOUNTEER until the school has the confirmation number.
The access code to complete the Criminal Record Check is: HE2WQFBB7X
You can also complete a Criminal Record Check Consent paper form , but you can not volunteer until the District Administration has received the clearance letter (which could take up to 2 weeks or more). You will need to mail, scan, fax this copy in.
Many of our activities (especially team sports) are dependent on volunteer drivers. To be a volunteer driver, you need to have a completed Criminal Record Check (see above).
Volunteer Driver information needs to be completed on a yearly basis. To complete this step, the school requires the following:
- A completed Criminal Record Check on file (this application is good for 5 years)
- A completed Drivers Abstract - This is a printout of your current driving record. This can be obtained free of charge from the governnment building.
- A completed Volunteer Driver Application form
- A copy of the valid insurnace you have on the vehicle you would be driving for volunteering. What is required for minimum insurance coverage is listed on the Volunteer Driver Application form
